Hi there, I’m Naima

نعيمة pronounced [nah-ee-muh] - a female name of Arabic origin meaning ‘contentedness or tranquility’

Birthkeeper. Mentor. Educator.

Passionate about physiological birth and honouring women’s decisions to follow their wild, instinctive, natural rhythms through pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond.

I walked away from industrial midwifery after completing a degree program because I could not stand for a system that prioritises protocol over people, when my true calling has always been to serve women and their babies.

Birth is a sacred, spiritual, and divine rite of passage.

Women intrinsically have everything they need to birth their babies, but in the burden of today’s society, it can be hard to listen to the deep knowing within.

I am here for those who would benefit from the reminder.

عناية - ‘Ināyah - pronounced [in-ah-uh], a female name of Arabic origin meaning “care”, “concern” & “attention”.

The term “‘Ināyah” in the Quranic context describes God's care for his creation, including his provision of sustenance, guidance, and protection from harm.

Ināyah also has the meaning of referring to the attention and care humans give to others.

I have named my birth business ‘Ināyah, to carry the beautiful energy of this word into my work. As a muslim, it holds deep meaning to me, and it richly encompasses what I strive to offer women from all walks of life.
